External Books of Remembrance

We have two External Books of Remembrance available for dedication, one at Cambridge Crematorium on Huntingdon Road and one in the Cantebrigge Gardens at Newmarket Road Cemetery.

  • Woodland Book plaques are available for dedication for 5 year leases.
  • You can have a black granite plaque inscribed with wording of your choice, with a maximum of 5 lines.
  • The plaques are predominantly meant to commemorate one person, but you may be able to have 2 names if your chosen inscription fits the plaque.
  • In order to help us keep our grounds looking neat and tidy, we kindly ask that you do not leave memorabilia or trinkets around your memorial.

What happens at the end of a lease?

One month before your lease is due to end, we will write to you to invite you to either renew or terminate your lease. With this in mind, please keep us updated with any change of address. If you decide to terminate your lease, you are able to take the plaque home with you. Whilst we will do our best to avoid it, please be aware that the plaque may be damaged when removed. Please contact our office to arrange this. The space on the book would then become available for another family to lease.

If we have not heard from you after 3 months of the expiry date, we will end the lease and remove the plaque from the book. We will store the disk for a further 3 months. If we have not heard from you within 6 months of the expiry date, we will make arrangements for the disposal of the plaque.
